Wisconsin man found dead in Minnesota cabin, 2 men arrested

A Wisconsin man who was reported missing April 19 was found dead in an east-central Minnesota cabin on Tuesday. 

According to the Barron Police Department, 36-year-old Chris Etchison, of Barron, was found dead inside the cabin in Sandstone, Minnesota. A cause of death has not been announced. 

Etchison's sister, Karen Etchison Beatty, posted to Facebook on Sunday that "no one has seen or heard from my brother Chris since April 14th," adding that "with each day that passes it is harder to hope he is fine."

Leads in the case gave police cause to search Etchison's home on Monday, which in led to the arrest of three suspects on Tuesday.

An 18-year-old man is being held in Barron County Jail on suspicion of battery, identity theft and resisting arrest, and a 20-year-old man is jailed on suspicion of identity theft, resisting arrest and parole violation. 

The third person arrested has been released. 

The Barron Police Department, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Pine County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate.
