Woah ... that van is on fire 🔥🔥🔥

How does that even happen?

This is what South Metro Fire Department in St. Paul had to deal with Friday morning.

The orange van was completely up in flames. Fire was pouring out its windows and doors, and burning through the roof.

Officials said it started as a vehicle fire and spread to a nearby garage.

While firefighters noted structural damage to the garage was limited – the van doesn't look like it'll be in the best shape after this.

No one was injured in the blaze, the fire department told GoMN. And what exactly caused the fire has not been released yet.

WCCO says the fire is being investigated.

Car fire facts

According to a report from the Minnesota State Fire Marshal, fire departments responded to more than 2,500 vehicle fires in 2015.

That's compared to more than 6,000 structural fires.

For the most part, the number of vehicle fires seems to be trending downward over the years – between 2014 and 2015, there was a six percent decrease.
