Wolves-Blazers rescheduled; creates 3 back-to-backs in final 10 days
Monday's meeting at Target Center between the Timberwolves and Trail Blazers that was postponed due to slippery floor conditions has been rescheduled for April 3, according to Timberwolves reporter Kyle Ratke.
The floor at Target Center was deemed unplayable because ice under the arena floor created a layer of condensation on the court. Disney On Ice was at Target Center last weekend and the NCHC men's hockey tournament will be played at Target Center March 17-18.
The Minnesota-Portland game is critical as both teams fight for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Entering Thursday's games, the Denver Nuggets are one game ahead of Portland and 2 1/2 games ahead of Minnesota.
The rescheduled date of April 3 puts Minnesota in a position where they'll play five games in seven nights and their final seven games over a 10-day stretch, including three back-to-backs.
- Monday, April 3: vs. Portland
- Tuesday, April 4: at Golden State
- Thursday, April 6: at Portland
- Friday, April 7: at Utah
- Sunday, April 9: at L.A. Lakers
- Tuesday, April 11: vs. Oklahoma City
- Wednesday, April 12: at Houston
It's a daunting challenge, and could make or break them if they're still in the playoff mix at the time.
