Woman, 20, arrested in connection to fatal hit-and-run in north Minneapolis
A 20-year-old St. Paul woman has been arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in north Minneapolis Friday night.
The victim, identified by family to KSTP-TV as 23-year-old Kevin Dodge-Fjelbroten, was struck by a silver Ford Taurus at 10:24 p.m. in the area of the 2500 block of West Broadway Avenue.
Dodge-Fjelbroten was found lying in the roadway, with the striking vehicle further down the roadway. The car was stopped and abandoned – and heavily damaged.
Dodge-Fjelbroten was transported to North Memorial Medical Center and died shortly after arriving, according to Minneapolis police.
On Sunday, homicide detectives interviewed a person of interest and ultimately arrested that person – a 20-year-old St. Paul woman, who is being held in the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center for probable cause criminal vehicular homicide.
Police said the driver appeared to be speeding when the victim was struck in the westbound lanes of West Broadway.
