A young adult died in a two-vehicle crash in southwest Minnesota Saturday afternoon.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened around 12:52 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and County Road 14 in Elk Township. The rural area is located just north of Worthington in Nobles County.
The State Patrol said 22-year-old Kasey Rynae Hix, of Ellsworth, was driving a 2005 Chevy Tahoe northbound on Hwy. 59 and a 75-year-old Reading, Minnesota, man was westbound on County 14 in a 1995 Ford pickup.
They collided at the intersection, with the impact causing the Tahoe to roll.
Hix died at the scene. Hix was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol said. The 75-year-old motorist was taken to a hospital in Worthington with non-critical injuries.
According to Google Maps, there are stop signs on County Road 14 at both the east and west sides of the intersection with Hwy. 59.
