A woman from Mora, Minnesota, was killed in a collision on Hwy. 65 on Monday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a Chevrolet classic was traveling northbound on the highway south of Mora around 1:45 p.m. when it crossed the center line.

It was struck head-on by a Peterbilt semi tractor, with the Chevy driver suffering fatal injuries.

The driver has been identified as Stacy Gariepy, 42, of Mora.

The State Patrol says that she was wearing a seat belt and that alcohol was not involved in the crash.

Paying tribute to the victim on social media is Gariepy's sister, Patience, who wrote that she lost her "best friend," and her entire family is in shock.

"My heart is with my nephews who lost so much more than I did today when Stacy died," she added. "I know she will be watching over them because they were her world! Her everything!"

The driver of the semi-tractor, a 35-year-old man from Harris, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the collision.
