The body of a woman was recovered from a lake near the Minnesota border in Wisconsin on Thursday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says it was called to the Finn Point Road area of Lake Amnicon just before 9 a.m., after receiving a report that a woman had gone swimming and couldn't be found.

Her body was recovered a short time later in shallow water about 100 yards south of the dock where she entered.

Foul play is not suspected, though the incident remains under investigation.

The woman, who is 71, has not been identified.

Lake Amnicon is located about 20 miles south of the Twin Ports of Superior and Duluth.
