Woman and her 2 sons killed in car crash near St. Cloud

The accident happened Saturday in Palmer Township.

Authorities are investigating a weekend crash that killed a mother and her two grown sons near St. Cloud.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon when the family's SUV went through a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck, per KARE 11.

The station says the Sherburne County sheriff has identified the three as 77-year-old Lucille A. Hansen, Jason J. Hansen, 43, and Jeffrey J. Hansen, 48.

According to the Star Tribune, the mother was ejected from the vehicle "as it rolled multiple times."

The 24-year-old man driving the pickup truck received non life-threatening injuries, the paper says.

The Associated Press notes that authorities have not yet disclosed who was behind the wheel of the SUV.

This crash, as well as the two that left three people dead in the Twin Cities this weekend, brings the number of 2019 Minnesota road fatalities to at least 331.
