A Minnesota woman is hoping justice is served after she woke up Thursday morning to her horse having been shot dead.

Chelsea Kay Lizakowski posted photos to Facebook (graphic content warning) showing her spotted filly was shot in the head.

“We don’t have any suspects” Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes told KFGO. “There is a wound to the horse's head, but what caused that wound, we don’t know yet.”

Lizakowski believes it happened between 8 p.m. Wednesday when she let the horse out to pasture and 7 a.m. the next morning.

It happened off of County Road 91 near Lake George, which is 20-25 miles south of Bemidji.

"IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING OR SAW ANYTHING AT ALL, I beg of you to let me know or the Hubbard county sheriff's department ASAP. This is absolutely SICK."

A reward will be given if someone can provide information that leads to an arrest, she said.

"Not only did you kill a well bred high dollar filly – you killed and INNOCENT, HEALTHY ADORABLE baby that had a FULL life ahead of her!"

Lizakowski is the owner of CL Horse Connection in Lake George, according to her Facebook profile.
