Woman dies 2 days after house fire in south Minneapolis

A woman injured in a house fire in Minneapolis last week has died. 

Minneapolis Fire Department responded to a blaze around 10 p.m. Wednesday at a home located on the 5200 block fo 36th Ave. S. 

While searching the house, firefighters found a woman unconscious near the back door and carried her outside before she was transported to a local hospital. She died from her injuries on Friday. 

The victim's identity has not been released and the cause of the fire is under investigation. 

It's the first fire-related death in Minneapolis of 2019. There were three fire-related fatalities in Minneapolis in 2018. 

In a separate incident, a 25-year-old man died in a house fire Sunday morning in Red Wing.
