A Minnesota woman has died after suffering a serious head injury in a snowmobile crash last month.

Vicki Lynn Gleason, 69, of Waterville, was involved in a snowmobile crash Feb. 24 and died Mar. 5 at North Memorial with her family and best friend by her side, according to her CaringBridge page

Gleason, who was wearing a helmet, was riding a 2012 Yamaha snowmobile when she crashed on Hwy. 371 near County Road 107 north of Nisswa, the Minnesota State Patrol said at the time.

The Brainerd Dispatch reports that Gleason's snowmobile hit a hard snowbank and flipped. She was found lying on the highway by an off-duty state trooper.

"Vicki had that very special gift that made you feel like you were her best friend, and you were," says her CaringBridge page. "She had that ability to love, like no one else, she celebrated life and lived it to the fullest. She never forgot anyone that she met. She left her impression, a heart print on us all."

WCCO reported earlier this week that seven Minnesota have died in snowmobile crashes this winter. It's unclear if Gleason's death is included in that total. Fifteen people have died in snowmobile accidents in Wisconsin this winter.
