Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman dead in the early hours of Saturday.

The investigation started when police were called to the 100 block of Larpenteur Avenue West on a report of "a large fight in the parking lot of a business" at around 1 a.m.

While officers were responding to that, 911 calls were received reporting shots fired at the same location.

Police arrived to find vehicles leaving the scene but no injuries. One vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Rice Street at Owasso Boulevard.

Believing this vehicle may have been involved in the incident on Larpenteur, they stopped it and found a female passenger suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Paramedics responded and provided First Aid, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made at this stage. Police want anyone with information to call 651-266-5650.
