An all-terrain-vehicle crash has left a woman dead in northeast Minnesota.
It happened Saturday afternoon on the Soo Line North Trail, a 15-mile trail for off-road vehicles, east of Moose Lake in Carlton County.
According to a release from the local sheriff's office, the victim was traveling in a two-seat ATV when the vehicle collided with a car at an intersection near the 4100 block of County Road 8.
She was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Duluth hospital, where she was eventually pronounced dead.
The ATV's other occupant, and the person inside the car, did not report any injuries.
The victim, who was 31 years old, has not been identified yet.
As of this writing, there have been 19 ATV-related fatalities in Minnesota, according to numbers from the DNR. In all of 2019, there were 11 ATV fatalities in the state.
