Woman dies after reported domestic assault in Columbia Heights

A man is being held on probable cause 1st-degree manslaughter.

A woman has died and a man arrested after a reported domestic assault in Columbia Heights.

Police were called to a house in the 5100 block of 4th St. NE. at 6 a.m. Saturday to find a 33-year-old woman suffering injuries.

Despite lifesaving attempts at the scene by paramedics and firefighters, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Taken into custody was a 32-year-old man, who has been booked into Anoka County Jail for probable cause 1st-degree manslaughter.

"This case appears to be an isolated domestic related incident with no ongoing threat to the public," the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.

More details are expected to be released in the coming days.
