Woman dies in Hudson jail after being found unresponsive in bunk
A woman being held in St. Croix County Jail after being arrested was found dead in her cell on Sunday morning.
The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office says the incident was reported at 11:42 a.m., when a Lakeview Ambulance was sent to the jail after the inmate was found lying in her bunk, unresponsive and not breathing.
Despite lifesaving measures, she was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as Danyiel C. Mager, 46, of New Richmond.
The sheriff's office says she had been arrested on several outstanding warrants, and had been booked into the jail in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Her cause of death has not been revealed, but will be confirmed at a later date by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, following toxicology results.
The sheriff's office says there was "no evidence of internal or external traumatic injuries."
Her death is being investigated by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
