Woman fatally stabs husband at their home in Newport, police say

It happened at 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

A man was stabbed to death early on Sunday morning, with his wife taken into custody.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said the stabbing happened at the pair;s home in the 400 block of 6th Avenue in the southwest Twin Cities suburb of Newport.

They arrived around 6:30 a.m. to find the man suffering with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital along with his wife, but he didn't survive.

Police haven't yet revealed any details about the couple, or the circumstances that led to the stabbing,

It comes just days after another fatal domestic incident in the Twin Cities, after a man died from head injuries at his home in Bloomington on May 27.

His wife was initially arrested, though the Star Tribune reports she has since been released with no charges for now as the investigation continues.
