Woman found dead in Eden Prairie home, man arrested for murder

A 61-year-old man is in custody.

A man is in custody on suspicion of first-degree murder following the death of a woman in Eden Prairie early Thursday morning.

Eden Prairie police were called to the home on the 18300 block of Cascade Drive, just south of Hwy. 5, at 2:19 a.m. Thursday to a report of an unresponsive female.

They arrived to find the woman dead and one other person present in the home.

Police found enough probable cause to arrest a 61-year-old man from Eden Prairie, who is currently being held in Hennepin County Jail.

Details of the victim and the man's relationship with her have not yet been released, other than to say "the victim and the suspect were known to each other."

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office will release more information about the woman and how she died at a later stage.

Police say there is no risk to the wider public.
