Woman found dead inside North St. Paul apartment, relative arrested

Police are investigating and an arrest has been made after a woman was found dead in her North St. Paul apartment on Friday evening. 

According to North St. Paul Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Cedarview Commons apartments at 2075 Hwy. 36 to conduct a welfare check on a 46-year-old woman. On arrival, they found delivery food "untouched" outside her door. Officers knocked and when nobody answered, they had a maintenance worker unlock the door. 

Inside was the body of woman, who "appeared to have died from unnatural causes," police say. 

A 25-year-old relative has been arrested in connection to the woman's death and is being held in Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center. 

The identities of the victim and suspect have not been released, nor has any specific information about their relationship. 

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has taken over the investigation.
