A woman has died after crashing into a horse in Wisconsin.
The incident happened at 6:40 a.m. on Friday, when a 2009 Chevrolet Impala struck a brown horse in the middle of County Trunk Highway Z in Pleasant Valley.
The Impala then went into a ditch and then came to rest in a field.
The driver, Diane Johnson, of Hammond, Wisconsin, was killed in the crash despite life-saving attempts by first responders.
Police said she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The horse was also killed in the crash, with its body found in the center of the road when responders arrived at the scene.
It's the 9th traffic death in St. Croix County in 2019, the sheriff's office said.
