Woman killed in Robbinsdale shooting identified, ex-husband the suspect
The woman fatally shot in her Robbinsdale home on Friday has been identified, with her ex-husband the man arrested in connection with her killing.
Lauri Anne Deatherage, 48, of Robbinsdale, was fatally shot in the head in her home at 3456 Grimes Ave. N. on June 18, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner said.
Police had been called to the area for a welfare check on Friday when they found Detherage dead.
A suspect in connection to the Robbinsdale fatal shooting was arrested Friday in Brooklyn Center after a 10-hour standoff with police. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
According to the Star Tribune, the suspect is Deatherage's ex-husband, who is accused of fatally shooting her just four days into her new marriage to Billy Deatherage, a fellow Air Force veteran with whom she had reunited after about 30 years.
They married on her 48th birthday, she wrote on Facebook.
Billy Deatherage told the Star Tribune she served in the Air Force in the early 1990s and for the past 20 years has worked designing costumes for the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
