Woman killed in two-vehicle crash in Willmar

The victim was a passenger in one of the cars involved.

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Willmar Wednesday.

The crash happened at 3:28 p.m. at 19th Avenue and 5th Street Southeast in Willmar.

The victim was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the crash, per the Willmar Police Department.

The female driver of one of the vehicles was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.

At this stage, the victim has not been identified by police, with the incident still under investigation.

Minnesota on Tuesday passed the 300 mark for road deaths in the state so far in 2019.

Of the 301 deaths confirmed as of Oct. 29, 204 were in vehicles, 43 were motorcyclists, 34 were pedestrians and 8 were bicyclists.

There have been fewer deaths this year compared to the same time last year, when there had been 313 deaths on state roads.
