Woman pulled unresponsive from Mounds View pond

A woman is in a Twin Cities hospital after she was pulled unresponsive from a north metro pond on Thursday evening.

The woman was found in the pond on the 7700 block of Silver Lake Road in Mounds View around 5:30 p.m.

She was pulled out and when police arrived, officers found she was not breathing, according to the Mounds View Police Department.

First responders performed CPR, with the woman then taken to Unity Hospital in Fridley.

There have been fewer water-related deaths and injuries in Minnesota so far this year.

Figures from the DNR sent to BMTN show that as of June 30, there had been 9 non-boating drownings in 2019, compared to 13 at the stage.
