Woman shot man, critically wounding him near Roseville strip mall

Police say it was a domestic incident and the woman is in custody.

A 40-year-old woman is in custody after a shooting left a man critically wounded in Roseville Sunday night. 

Roseville Police Department issued a release around 9 a.m. Monday saying officers responded to 1681 Rice St. – the address of Noble Tobacco – at 10:02 p.m. for a "domestic related shooting that had just occurred in the parking lot." 

On arrival, officers found a 41-year-old Minneapolis man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and as of Monday morning was in critical condition. 

A 40-year-old St. Paul woman was arrested at the scene and booked into Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center on pending charges of 2nd-degree attempted murder.

Roseville PD and crime scene staff from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating to find out what led to the shooting. They did recover a gun in the parking lot. 

There is no ongoing threat to the public, police say.
