Woman shot dead in disturbance at bar in St. Paul

She was pronounced dead after being taken to Regions Hospital.

Police say they have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting.

A woman has died after being shot during a "disturbance" at a bar in St. Paul in the early hours of Wednesday.

That's according to St. Paul Police, which said that the incident happened on the 1500 block of University Avenue West and Asbury Street North. 

That's the location of the Trend Bar, to which police were called around 1:15 a.m. asking for help, with officers saying they learned minutes later that a woman had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and had been taken to Regions Hospital in a private vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the hospital, with police saying their preliminary investigation indicates she got her injury during the disturbance at Trend Bar.

Police have launched an investigation to find the shooter.

It's the 17th homicide in St. Paul so far in 2020, this compares to 12 at the same time in 2019. 

The victim has not yet been identified.
