Police in Maple Grove are searching for a man who transported a gunshot victim to a hospital over the weekend.

According to KSTP, a woman in a car with three children was shot in the parking lot of Famous Dave's in Maple Grove last Saturday. She was there to pick up a man who had finished working at the restaurant.

The Maple Grove Police Department in a news release said a man then transported the victim to a nearby hospital. He later spoke with the PD over the phone - but authorities haven't been able to contact him since.

Detectives want to interview him again to further their investigation. In an effort to get in contact with the man, police have identified him as Marcel McCabe and are asking for help getting in touch with him.

McCabe has not been charged with any crimes.

"The adult female victim is still currently being treated at a nearby hospital," the release says, with KSTP reporting she is unable to speak with investigators due to the severity of her condition.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the public and if anyone has information about they case they are asked to call 763-494-6157.
