A south Minneapolis woman became stranded as she tried to dock her boat on Lake Superior.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says it and the U.S. Coast Guard was alerted to a woman in distress near the Superior Entry in the Superior Bay at around 3:34 p.m. Wednesday.

"It was reported a 55-year-old woman was stranded on a cement block while attempting to dock her sailboat that had drifted into Lake Superior," the sheriff's office said.

The woman was found by the Duluth Fire Department and rescued.

She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Superior Entry is at the end of Park Point, with the narrow entry to the Twin Ports marking a state boundary between Minnesota and Wisconsin.
