Minneapolis police are investigating after a woman's body was found in north Minneapolis on Tuesday.

According to Minneapolis PD spokesperson John Elder, a dead body was found behind a residence on the 3500 block of Dupont Ave. N. at around 5:30 p.m.

Responding officers arrived and found the woman's body, with her identity cause of death to be released at a later date by a medical examiner.

The Star Tribune reports family have identified the woman as Amber Hopkins, a 31-year-old who went missing in January. A Facebook post from a woman who say she is Hopkins' aunt says, in part, " I guess it's true the good always die young."

A investigation is in progress and the Minneapolis Crime Lab processed the scene, in addition to patrol officers canvassing the area and conducting interviews.
