An Ohio woman was taken to a hospital Monday evening after her foot was run over by a semi on Interstate 35 in southern Minnesota.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the 34-year-old woman was attempting to retrieve her sandal that flew out of the Chevy Impala she was in along I-35 in Freeman Township, which is just north of the Iowa border.
"Female was running into roadway to pick up her sandal that had flew from her vehicle," the crash report says.
A semi traveling in the northbound lanes moved from the right to left lane to avoid her, but the woman's right foot was run over by the semi's front right tire.
It's not clear how much damage was done, but the State Patrol described the woman's injuries as not-life-threatening. She was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for treatment.
