A world record-setting water slide is coming to Minnesota
Put this on your summer bucket list: a giant slip and slide is coming to Minnesota.
Slide the City is a world record-setting water slide that travels to different cities all over the nation, throwing family friendly water parties. And for just one day in August it will set up in Chisholm, a town nestled in the Iron Range.
The slide is 1,000 feet long – that's about the same as three football fields. It's not the longest water slide in the world, but it does hold the Guinness World Record for the “longest distance travelled on a slip and slide in one hour.”
It'll stretch through the heart of downtown Chisholm, at Lake Street and 4th Avenue. Don't worry, there's a bunch of cushioning underneath – "more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers," Slide the City says.
The parties also feature music, food trucks, and local vendors.

Slide the City says you should come "dressed to impress" with a swim suit, shoes (you'll have to walk on hot pavement), sunscreen, and cash or card.
Kids must be at least 5 years old and over 46 inches tall to ride the slide.
