One person is dead and two injured after a crash involving a wrong-way driver in Minnetonka.

The Minnetonka Police Department released a statement about the crash, saying they were called at 10:53 p.m. Friday on a report of a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 7 near Vine Hill Road.

The wrong-way driver crashed head-on with another vehicle traveling west, while a third vehicle swerved into the ditch to avoid the wreck.

The westbound driver was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center but did not survive their injuries.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition, and the driver of the vehicle that swerved suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
