A head-on crash on Interstate 94 near Sauk Centre Wednesday morning killed a wrong-way driver.
According to Minnesota State Patrol, a semi-truck was traveling east on Interstate 94 at around 3 a.m. Wednesday, while a pickup truck was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lane.
The two vehicles crashed head-on, with the pickup truck ending up in the median and the semi-truck in the right ditch.
The pickup driver, a 78-year-old from Osakis. died in the collision, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle and wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
The 22-year-old semi driver and the 22-year-old passenger, both from Canada, were not injured.
The incident is under investigation.
