A girl was transported to a hospital in "very critical condition" after being shot in the head Saturday in Minneapolis.
Police spokesperson John Elder said the shooting was reported at approximately 8:32 p.m., with a preteen girl struck in the head by a bullet on the 2200 block of Llion Avenue North in north Minneapolis.
Officers arrived at the scene and immediately rushed the child in a squad vehicle to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Police are investigating the belief that a red Ford pulled into the alley and a shooter fired from the car at a home. Elder said several children were playing outside in the backyard at the time of the shooting.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing. No further information has been released.
