Young mom in shooting, car crash incident dies from her injuries
A woman who was struck by a bullet while traveling in a car in south Minneapolis has died from her injuries.
Minneapolis Police Department has confirmed that the woman gravely injured in the Monday evening incident died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Friday.
She has been identified by family as 18-year-old mom-of-one Arionna Buckinaga.
She was with a man in a vehicle that was traveling in the area of Cedar Avenue South and 38th Street East, when the vehicle was shot at by an unknown person(s).
Buckinaga was struck, with the vehicle then crashing into a tree. At this stage, no arrests have been made.
Those who knew her held a vigil outside HCMC this week, after they learned that her family was preparing to turn off her life support due to the severity of her injuries.
