A public school superintendent is apologizing after a school assembly turned into a musical anti-gay rant by a controversial Minnesota Christian rock band. Administrators booked the band, Junkyard Prophet, thinking they would talk about controversial lyrics in contemporary music. Instead, it turned into strict Christian screed about the dangers of homosexuality and abortion.

Thousands of Christian students at the Virginia college had standing ovations and amens for the Republican hopeful. Bachmann quoted scripture and appealed to students to reject President Obama's policies, especially health-care reform.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Stillwater Area Schools are looking to share services and equipment with the city and Washington County as a way to be more efficient. Stillwater officials say you have to do things differently to give taxpayers the best value for their money.

Bill Gronseth has been Duluth's interim School Superintendent for the past month. Now the School Board wants him to take over as the successor to I.V. Foster, who resigned after failing to gain a superintendent's license in Minnesota.

Minneapolis Public Schools is bringing in a Chicago schools administrator to be their new associate superintendent. The Star Tribune reports Stephen Flisk will replace former associate superintendent Erin Glynn.

St. Paul is looking to give its struggling schools a boost. Instead of distributing money to the schools based on enrollment numbers, Minnesota's second-largest district is factoring in demographics and performance of students.

The free clinics for district employees opened two years ago in the north metro district. Staff members and their families can use the clinics for anything from a routine checkup to simple surgical procedures. The clinics allowed the district to turn a potential seven percent increase in premiums into a three percent increase, the Star Tribune reports. Other school districts are following suit.

Some schools in the Twin Cities are now using the 'Infinite Campus' program, which allows parents to check things like attendance, grades and even lunch money from their smartphone. The app is free to use.
