11 straight losses has the Twins inching closer to a bad record
There's probably light at the end of the tunnel, but if the Twins don't find it soon they could break a team record for most consecutive losses.
A 1-0 extra-inning loss in Cleveland Monday night pushed the streak to 11 games, tying a mark in 2011 for the fourth-longest losing streak in Twins history. The only longer losing streaks are:
- 12 straight (2015/2016)
- 13 straight (1961)
- 14 straight (1982)
The longest losing streak in MLB history (modern day) is 23, set by the 1961 Philadelphia Phillies.
Tuesday's Twins-Indians game should be a good chance for Minnesota to break the trend. They're facing starting pitcher Josh Tomlin, who's allowed 30 runs in his last five starts – all losses. Andrew Albers starts for the Twins.
