Two of the best teams in high school basketball in Minnesota are among the best in the country, according to the ESPN High School Top 25 boys' basketball poll.
The poll ranks the best teams in the nation, and it has Eden Prairie and Minnehaha Academy both inside the top 15. Minnehaha Academy is ranked 14th while the undefeated Eagles of Eden Prairie check in at No. 11.
Eden Prairie (25-0), which rallied to beat Minnehaha Academy (20-3) in a battle of No. 1s last week, is one of only two undefeated teams in the poll, the other being No. 1-ranked Montverde Academy (Florida).
In the Max Preps top-25 poll, Eden Prairie is 15th in the nation while Minnehaha Academy is unranked despite owning a win over No. 2 Sierra Canyon, whom they crushed at Target Center in early January.
Both teams feature one of the five finalists for the 2020 Minnesota Mr. Basketball Award. For Eden Prairie, it's Drake Dobbs, while 5-star Gonzaga-bound guard Jalen Suggs represents Minnehaha Academy.
The other finalists for the award are Ben Carlson (East Ridge), Dawson Garcia (Prior Lake) and Nate Heise (Lake City).
The boys' basketball regular season in Minnesota wraps up this week, with the section tournaments beginning next week.
In girls basketball, undefeated Hopkins (25-0), led by super recruit Paige Bueckers (UConn), is ranked 11th in the Max Preps poll. They begin section tournament play Wednesday against Minneapolis Washburn.
