Boys' Basketball Tournament: BBE remains perfect to win 1A; Plainview-Elgin-Millville wins 2A; DeLaSalle, Osseo win thrillers in 3A, 4A
It was a pair of buzzer-beater finishes at the boys’ state high school basketball tournament on Saturday.
In the 3A title game, DeLaSalle’s Ross Barker hit a last-second two-pointer in overtime to lift his team to a 57-56 win over Minneapolis Washburn.
In the 4A game, Osseo held on to squeak past Lakeville North 49-47. Ian Theisen hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer.
Earlier in the day, Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa topped Southwest Minnesota Christian 54-45 to win the 1A championship. BBE is the only high school basketball team in the state to finish the season undefeated.
In 2A, Plainview-Elgin-Millville beat Litchfield 55-39 to take that class title. Forward Beau Nelson led Plainview-Elgin-Millville with 21 points.
