Tre Jones, Geno Crandall and Reid Travis could have a homecoming of sorts playing in the Final Four if they help lead their college basketball teams to wins in this weekend's Elite 8.
Jones, the 2018 Mr. Basketball winner from Apple Valley High School, scored 22 points and had eight assists in Duke's 75-73 Sweet 16 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday night. His Blue Devils play Sunday against Michigan State with a trip to the Final Four in Minneapolis on the line.
Two other Elite 8 matchups feature Minnesotans.
Reid Travis, a former state champ at DeLaSalle High School, had six points and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes to help Kentucky beat Houston 62-58 in the Sweet 16. The Wildcats will face a red-hot Auburn team on Sunday for a trip to the Final Four.
Travis' former teammate at DeLaSalle, Geno Crandall, is a key backup guard for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who go up against Texas Tech on Saturday for a spot in the Final Four.
The only Elite 8 matchup that doesn't feature any Minnesotans is between Purdue and Virginia.
