We've reached the final week of regular season high school football in Minnesota and teams will wrap up Week 8 on short rest as the games are scheduled to be played Wednesday night before students go on break for MEA.

With that, these are the 35 teams that are going for a perfect 8-0 record.

Class 6A: 1 undefeated

  • Wayzata (7-0)

It wasn't easy, but the Wayzata Trojans remain the only unbeaten team in Class 6A thanks to a 14-7 victory over Shakopee on Friday night. They'll go for a perfect 8-0 regular season when they play at Burnsville Wednesday night.

Class 5A: 6 undefeated

  • Owatonna (7-0)
  • St. Thomas Academy (7-0)
  • Tartan (7-0)
  • Robbinsdale Armstrong (7-0)
  • Elk River (7-0)
  • Bemidji (7-0)

No changes here as all of last week's undefeated teams won. All six could finish with undefeated regular seasons, and most of them could be in the State Tournament in November with perfect records because the only two in the same section are Robbinsdale Armstrong and Elk River.

Class 4A: 7 undefeated

  • Winona (7-0)
  • Hutchinson (7-0)
  • Marshall (7-0)
  • Fridley (7-0)
  • SMB (7-0)
  • Benilde-St. Margaret's (7-0)
  • Detroit Lakes (7-0)

There were eight undefeated teams in 4A entering play last Friday, but Simley lost to Tartan (unbeaten in a bigger class). There's a pretty good chance that all seven of the remaining unbeaten teams finish off undefeated regular seasons this week.

Class 3A: 5 undefeated

  • Stewartville (6-0)
  • Jackson County Central (7-0)
  • Cannon Falls (6-0)
  • Albany (7-0)
  • Pierz (7-0)

We're down to five unbeaten teams here after Annandale dropped from the ranks with a 14-8 road loss to Glencoe-Silver Lake. At least one more undefeated team will fall this week as Stewartville and Cannon Falls meet.

Class 2A: 4 undefeated

  • Caledonia (7-0)
  • Lewiston-Altura (7-0)
  • Minneapolis North (7-0)
  • Barnesville (7-0)

Concordia Academy fell from unbeaten status with 19-0 loss to Breck (6-1). The team most in jeopardy of losing this week is Barnesville, as they have a date with Staples-Motley (6-1).

Class 1A: 5 undefeated

  • Blooming Prairie (7-0)
  • United South Central (7-0)
  • Springfield (7-0)
  • BOLD (7-0)
  • Carlton/Wrenshall (7-0)

The only unbeaten team from a week ago to lose was Minneota, which dropped an 8-2 nail biter to rival Canby.

Class 9-Man: 7 undefeated

  • LeRoy-Ostrander (7-0)
  • Renville County West (7-0)
  • Mountain Lake Area (7-0)
  • Hancock (7-0)
  • Brandon/Evansville (7-0)
  • Win-E-Mac (7-0)
  • North Central (7-0)

The only team to fall out of the undefeated ranks in 9-Man was Olgivie, which dropped a tight one, 34-32, to 1A unbeaten Carlton/Wrenshall.
