Golf fans might not want to head to the cabin for the Fourth of July next year because the 3M Open will be taking place at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.

The PGA Tour released the full 46-tournament FedEX Cup schedule for the 2018-19 season, and the 3M Open in Minnesota is scheduled for July 1-7, with the first round falling on the Fourth of July.

We're far from finding out which players will compete in the tournament, but 3M Open director Hollis Cavner believes it'll be a fantastic field competing for $6.6 million in prize money.

"The Twin Cities area and Minnesota come out for golf and we expect that here. I have been talking to players and we will have a good field," Cavner told BMTN."

It very well could be a great tuneup for the British Open at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland two weeks later (July 18-21). This year's Fourth of July-week tournament was last week, which featured many top 30 players, including Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson.

Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Ricky Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Jason Day, Patrick Reed and Zach Johnson did not play in last week's tournament at The Greenbrier.

Overall, the FedEX Cup schedule made drastic changes, including moving the PGA Championship from August to May, and The Players Championship will be played in March rather than May.
