247 Sports rates Bargy, a 6-foot-5, 255-pound junior from Momence High School (just south of Chicago), as the second-best recruit from Illinois in the Class of 2019.

Bargy picked the Gophers over offers from Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Purdue, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa State and Michigan State.

He's also the third top 10 player in Illinois to commit to the Gophers, joining three-star cornerback Tyler Nubin and three-star offensive tackle J.J. Guedett, also members of the 2019 graduating class.

Fleck's Gophers also have Illinois' sixth-rated player in this year's class, defensive tackle Elijah Teague, joining the team in the fall.

Minnesota's 2018 recruiting class is ranked 37th nationally and has a trio of four-star recruits. Bargy is the lone four-star recruit thus far in the 2019 class, which ranks 25th nationally, per 247 Sports.
