"Adam Thielen has broken a record that Randy Moss held. Yeah, Adam Thielen is legit, man."

Those are the words of ex-Packers (now Lions) defensive lineman Mike Daniels, who raved about the Vikings wide receiver during NFL Network's countdown of the top-100 players in the NFL.

Thielen checked in at No. 33 in the top 100. It's a jump of three spots after he was voted by his peers as the 36th-best player in the league last year. Not bad for a guy from Detroit Lakes who played D2 football at MSU-Mankato and signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent.

The Moss factor? Thielen broke Moss' record for most 100-yard games in a season with nine, one more than Moss had in any season during his time with the Vikings.

Thielen is the fifth Viking to make the top 100, joining Danielle Hunter (57), Stefon Diggs (73), Kirk Cousins (78) and Harrison Smith (83).

Here's where Thielen ranks compared to other wide receivers and tight ends that are in the top 100.

  • Adam Thielen - 33
  • Davante Adams - 36
  • Keenan Allen - 38
  • Zach Ertz - 40
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster - 47
  • Mike Evans - 53
  • A.J. Green - 58
  • Larry Fitzgerald - 60
  • Amari Cooper - 64
  • Eric Ebron - 66
  • T.Y. Hilton - 70
  • Stefon Diggs - 73
  • Robert Woods - 76
  • Jarvis Landry - 84
  • Julian Edelman - 90
  • Tyler Lockett - 98

The top-30 players will be announced in the coming weeks.
