UPDATE 1:45 P.M.
Multiple reports say the Redskins have indeed agreed to terms with free agent running back Adrian Peterson.
The feature image in this story is from today (Monday), showing Adrian Peterson standing with Washington Redskins cornerback D.J. Swearinger.
Peterson, wearing a Washington football t-shirt, is visiting the Redskins today with hopes of signing before he leaves. Pro Football Talk reports that veteran running backs Jamaal Charles and Orleans Darkwa have also visited with the Redskins.
"Redskins nation, I'm en route," said Peterson in an Instagram post Sunday night. "I'll be in the building tomorrow. Wish me luck."
Washington is in need of running back help since rookie Derrius Guice was lost for the season with a knee injury, and Samaje Parine and Bryon Marshall both suffered ankle injuries in last week's preseason game against the Jets.
Peterson, 33, got stuck on the bench behind Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram in New Orleans last season, rushing for just 81 yards in four games before being traded to Arizona, where he racked up 448 yards and two touchdowns in six games before suffering a season-ending neck injury.
