The Minnesota Wild picked up a 3-2 shootout win over Winnipeg on Saturday afternoon, in Winnipeg.

An injury to Josh Harding forced Niklas Backstrom into net for Minnesota and he played well for the Wild. Without a backup on the bench, Backstrom stopped 37 of the 39 shots he faced on Saturday afternoon.

A short-handed goal from Zach Parise late in the third period allowed the Wild to tie the game and force overtime.

Winnipeg broke the scoreless tie at the 13:07 mark of the second period, the wrist shot from Michael Frolik was the game's only scoring until the third period. Frolik finished with a goal and an assist in the game for the Jets.

Minnesota got going early in the third, when Nino Niederreiter scored to even up the game at one.

Matt Halischuk then put the Jets back on top with his second goal of the season to put the Jets back on top.

That was until Parise struck.

After the scoreless overtime period, Minnesota got the best of the Jets in the shootout. Charlie Coyle's goal in the shootout clinched it for Minnesota.
