Ailing Lindsay Vonn to race, but not against men

Battling a nasty stomach bug, Olympic gold medalist Lindsay Vonn will compete in one of the two races this weekend in Aspen, the Associated Press reports.

But she'd rather be in Lake Louise, Alberta, competing against men. The St. Paul-born Vonn recently requested to participate in a men's downhill race, but the International Ski Federation rejected that.

Still, the possibility of a race against men isn't completely out of the question, USA Today reported. Max Gartner, president of Alpine Canada, told the Canadian Press that he's in talks with Red Bull to organize a race. Red Bull sponsors Vonn.

Her spirits don't seem to be damped by the setback, or illness:
