That roar you heard at 2:45 p.m. wasn't anything to worry about. That was just a simultaneous cheer from Minnesotans celebrating the NFL's announcement that Super Bowl 52 is coming to Minneapolis in 2018.

The Super Bowl bid was awarded to the Vikings and city of Minneapolis after a dramatic vote televised live on NFL Network. Minneapolis' bid beat out bids from fellow finalists New Orleans and Indianapolis. Get all the details on how the vote went down right here.

But how did the Vikings win the bid? The presentation was going to blow the minds of 32 NFL owners, according to bid committee co-chair and US Bank CEO Richard Davis.

Clearly, it did, with the help of a theme about being "Built For The Bold."

"Our reputation may be 'Minnesota Nice,' said Doug Baker, CEO of Ecolab, "but bold lives in our DNA."

In one video, the bid committee showcased the nearly $1 billion multipurpose stadium being constructed on the site of the old Metrodome. It was referred to as the "most epically iconic structure in our great state." See the entire video here.

Local sports stars Adrian Peterson, Cris Carter, Bud Grant and Lindsey Vonn, along with celebrity chef and food critic Andrew Zimmern appear in a video, which you can watch right here.

Super Bowl Boulevard will be staged for over a mile in downtown Minneapolis, giving football fans an opportunity to experience what it means to be "Minnesota Bold." It will include a snowboard halfpipe, ice skating rink, horse drawn sleds, curling, broomball and a snowmobile track.

Worried about the cold? The boulevard will feature warming houses, fire pits, heating lamps and plenty of locations to grab a warm refreshment.

Some of the other Super Bowl Events include:

– NFL Experience: The NFL's interactive football theme park, it can host 150,000 fans over two weekends. That is likely to be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. It is the very venue the event was held in for the first time during the 1992 Super Bowl.

– NFL Tailgate Party: A pre-game party for up to 10,000 invited NFL guests within walking distance of the stadium.

– NFL Honors: A televised event where the NFL salutes its best players and plays. The two-hour primetime special also features live performances and player appearances.

– NFL Friday Night Party: A business party for approximately 1,200-1,400 invited NFL guests that is unique to the region.
