The Gopher men's basketball team was nowhere near the NCAA's national championship game, but the play of Apple Valley native Tyus Jones had Minnesota fans feeling some pride Monday night.

Duke's freshman point guard made big play after big play down the stretch in the second half, leading the Blue Devils to a 68-63 victory over Wisconsin and Duke's fifth national championship.

Jones finished with a game-high 23 points, 19 of which came in the second half. He was named the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player.

Duke's four freshman scored 60 of the Blue Devils' 68 points in the game.

Jones' playmaking in the final moments was a key to the victory. Here are just a couple of the big plays he made during the second half.

With Duke winning the national title, Jones becomes just the second freshman point guard to start for a national title-winning team, according to the Bleacher Report.
