Asiata out, several other Vikings questionable for Sunday against Green Bay

Whether or not newly acquired running back Ben Tate plays a significant role in Sunday's game against Green Bay remains unknown. But Vikings coach Mike Zimmer sounded happy about what they have seen from the former Cleveland Browns running back.

The Vikings claimed Tate on waivers from the Browns earlier this week.

"He's catching on quick, he's got some explosiveness hitting the hole," Zimmer told reporters on Friday. "Obviously he's a big body guy and has done a good job in protection so far."

The Vikings have ruled Matt Asiata out for Sunday's game against Green Bay because of a concussion. He was one of several players limited or forced to sit out of Friday's practice for the Vikings.

Vikings offensive coordinator, Norv Turner, told reporters they brought in Tate because of injuries in their backfield. Earlier in the week, neither Asiata or rookie Jerick McKinnon were able to practice because of injuries.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd was unable to practice on Friday for a second straight day after banging knees with a teammate during Wednesday's practice.

An MRI test showed no significant damage and Floyd indicated that he would like to play, but that the final decision will come from Zimmer and the medical staff.

"It's all in Coach's hands. I go as he go," said Floyd.

Matt Kalil also missed Friday's practice. He has been ruled questionable. Zimmer said Kalil is dealing with a "minor aggravation." The Star Tribune reports Kalil expects to play.

Additionally wide receivers Greg Jennings (rib) and Jarius Wright (hamstring) have also been ruled questionable. Both were full participants in Friday's practice.
