Augustus leads the Lynx to a win in front of packed crowd

Fueled by a great performance from Seimone Augustus, the Minnesota Lynx defeated the New York Liberty 88-70 on Friday night.

Augustus who was a game-time decision, put up 20 points on 9-13 shooting, pulling down 7 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Minnesota shot 47 percent from the floor in the win.

Maya Moore also had a big night, putting up 15 points and a team-high 8 assists while Janel McCarville had a strong showing off the bench with 10 points.

The game's build-up drew attention from around the country after the Lynx wore special warm-up shirts before their last home game. The shirts made mention of Black Lives Matter, prompting four off-duty police officers who were providing security to walked out of Target Center.

The Lynx chose not to wear the shirts Friday night. But a ticket-selling campaign supported by Black Lives Matter members seemed to have an impact, as Target Center appeared to be near max capacity.
