Badgers chop down Gophers 42-13

The pesky Badgers of Wisconsin took home Paul Bunyan's axe for the eighth-straight year, leaving little doubt as they scored early and often through the air and on the ground.

Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson threw the ball 17 times with only one pass falling incomplete- his last throw with the game sealed.

Everything else the Badgers did worked well.

Wisconsin's high-powered offense rolled over the Gophers, as Wilson threw for four touchdowns and junior running back Montte Ball scored on three occasions.

A small glimpse of hope came at the second-half kickoff when Minnesota's Duane Bennett returned the ensuing kick for a touchdown.

But any momentum garnered was stifled by a Badgers defense that was stout against the run and the pass.

The Gophers will look to regroup as they face the Northwestern Wildcats next Saturday at Ryan Field.
